SATC is proud to offer simulator training for our students on our own advanced, full motion, flight simulator. The Redbird FMX is the perfect tool to allow our students to test, improve and perfect their skills in a cost effective manner that is unaffected by poor weather conditions. Our simulator has been approved under the authority of the Canadian Aviation Regulations to act as a Single Engine Level 2 Flight Training Device, a Multi Engine Level 2 Flight Training Device and an IFR Renewal Level 2 Flight Training Device. The simulator is located on site in our hanger for ease of access.

This simulator can also be used for IFR License Renewals, offering a less expensive alternative to renting an aircraft. For current IFR pilots the cost of a renewal can be done for as little as $290 for the simulator rental and $300 for the examiner fee. Renewals are scheduled for two hour time slots: The first hour allows the pilot become familiar with the simulator and practice using it, and the second hour is used for the flight test. Depending on the level of pilot proficiency, some pilots may need to spend more than one practice hour in the simulator before they are comfortable taking their renewal exam.
