Transport Canada requires all Commercial Pilots to have completed eighty hours of ground school and two hundred hours of flight training, taking most students approximately two years to complete. Duration and cost of flight training depend on the student’s level of engagement in the course.With diligent training a full time student can complete their Commercial Pilot’s Training in as little as 1 year. The average cost for a Commercial Pilot’s License is approximately $23,750. The costs below are minimums, and do not include GST:
Requirements
The student must be at least 18 years old, have a Class 1 Aviation Medical Certificate and have a Private Pilot's Licence.
80 hours ground school - $550
Written Exam: The Transport Canada Written Exam is written at Transport Canada. A minimum of 60% overall, and in each of the four sections, is required to pass. The four sections are Air Law, Navigation, Meteorology, and Aeronautics (General Knowledge).

Additional Costs
To help facilitate student’s learning, SATC is open seven days a week (only closing for Christmas Day and New Year’s Day), has a fleet of twelve planes and has a full staff of instructors. This allows for the flexibility necessary to meet your scheduling needs.
